First Working Party

of 2017

We had a fantastic turnout of 24 people in lovely Spring weather for our "Great British Spring Clean" working party on Saturday 4 March.

A huge thank you to

Annie & Brian, Brenda & Ian, David, Ed & Christine, Elizabeth & Ava, Jill, Pete, Richard, Sacha & Tom and Tony and a special thank you to our guests, Andrew & Saty from the Safer Neighbourhoods Team and Ali, Kam, Sahir, Sam and Tar from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association

and everyone who joined Dragana and me for another great Spring Clean event on Pinn Meadows.

In joining in the Great British Spring Clean event we were among the wide range of schools, universities, councils, businesses, youth clubs, friends of parks groups, faith groups, uniformed groups all working together to make this country a cleaner and more attractive place to live.                             Rob Cousins

Ward Budget Grant Approved

Friends of Pinn Meadows have been successful in an application for a Ward Budget grant of £773.  The budget scheme gives each ward in the borough its own budget to spend on local projects.

The application specified that the grant should be spent on waders, drainage rods, bird boxes, bat boxes and wildlife recording equipment, together with educational material and equipment to support school party visits to Pinn Meadows.

Sincere thanks are due to Ward Councillors Becky and Nick for supporting the application and making it happen.

FoPM Chairman Rob Cousins says “I look forward to working with you all (and Dragana, of course!) installing and utilising our new equipment in order to ensure that we keep the Green Flag flying high over Pinn Meadows again this year”.
